I am a junior at Batesville Highschool and my favorite thing to do is go out and ride my
quad. I’ve been riding quads since I was four years old. I used to drag race quads when I was five until I was nine. I got into a series called IXCR in 2013 then I wrecked my quad and dislocated my shoulder. I just started riding again to get back into the groove of things. Most people’s idea of a good time is going out with their friends and partying. My idea of a good time is going out on my quad and enjoying life. On a warm sunny afternoon after I get off work I go home get all of my riding gear like my chest protector, neck brace, helmet, goggles, boots, and obviously my quad. I go out to my grandparents’ house in Osgood to practice. After I practice for an hour and a half to two hours so I can stay consistent at a race. After I get done practicing I load my quad up then my gear. I go home and clean my quad then after cleaning my quad I take all my gear and set it out so I can spray it off. This is usually a five-hour process from riding to going home and cleaning everything.

Some people might think lying in bed watching a movie, a vacation on the beach, or even a walk outside is relaxing. My idea of relaxation is a long trail ride on a horse; just me and the horse. A nice long trail ride is relaxing and peaceful because you just sit there and look around and enjoy the scenery, all the while, enjoying the fresh air. Horseback riding is my favorite thing to do. I also enjoy training horses and working with them. They are an amazing animal that most people misunderstand. They can tell if you uneasy and, if you are, they are nervous as well. At the same time, if you are calm they are calm. Part of the training process involves simply riding them to help them get used to the rider and their surroundings. It’s just the best feeling to be on a horse in the middle of a trail and let the wind blow through your hair and smell the fresh air. That’s my idea of relaxation.
About the author; I am a Junior at Batesville High School. I enjoy riding horses, being with my family and spending time with my friends. I also enjoy making people happy and I think horses can make people happy if you trust them and you truly know how amazing they truly are. Hello, my name is John Gaulin. I’m currently a Junior at High School, and take some college
classes on the side. Today I’ll be discussing why students should join AV Club. Over the few months that I’ve spent as being a member of the club, I enjoyed the projects we attempted to make *and didn’t complete*. For those who don’t know, AV Club is a club that has a focus on the creation, and showing of student made films, and even some projects. Each month has a designated topic for students to pick, and put passion into. These topics include anywhere from, and are not limited to: Mystery, Documentary, Sci-Fi, Action, and many more. The club allows people to flex their creative skills to produce movies that are both enjoyable to watch, and hilarious to watch. It also provides for amazing opportunities for those people who enjoy the passions of acting, which makes it similar to Drama Production. AV Club allows for friends to group up together to make any kind of film that they desire, as long as it’s in the realm of “school appropriate”. Even with that limitation, I know there still are people who will show their vast level of creativity, and show it off to their highest extent. Seeing passion like that is always amazing, and inspires you to do the same. That’s why I’m a member of the club, so I could enjoy making projects with my friends, and see other peoples’ creativity. On the first day of April, everyone falls into one of two categories: the prankers, or the
unsuspecting victim. No matter how quiet you stay, you still risk being pranked. It’s time to change that. This year you’ll be the one with the last laugh. 1. Insect Shadows: With some back paper and a bit of imagination, you can give someone a good scare when they turn on the light. 2. Taped Remote: If April Fools’ day happens to land on movie, put a bit of tape over the sensor and watch as your frustrated family tries to play the movie. 3. Mailbox Guest: You better make sure your mailman has already gone by before you put a plastic animal inside your mailbox. 4. Kool Aid Shower Head Prank: This staining dye powder does wonders. It’s useful in a drink, or added to the shower head. 5. Toothpaste Oreos: A classic prank but one that typically never fails. Buy a pack of Oreos, remove the crema, and replace it with white toothpaste. 10 Must-Haves for a College Dorm Room
In just two months the seniors will graduate and begin preparing for their journey as a college student. Many students question what they will need to buy for their dorm and after watching an abundance of “dorm haul” and “dorm tour” videos on YouTube, I believe I am well informed to educate my peers. Here are ten thing I believe are essential to surviving life in a dorm:
OttomanThis ingenious idea not only helps you climb onto your bed if it is lofted, but can be a space saver, as well as a seating area for guests.
My name is Kara Obermeyer, and I am a senior at BHS. I plan on attending Ball State in the fall to study pre-chiropractic. I am beyond excited to be graduating in May! When you're at school or work and your waiting and waiting and waiting for the weekend. I know everyone does this, don't act like you don't either. The weekend is very short-lived and when it's over we wish for it again and again and again, week after week month after month year after year. This may not be as good as you may think, when you're rushing to the weekend you could be missing out on your whole life. I am a junior in high school now and it goes so quickly, I would always keep wishing for Friday to come and soon enough here I am a JUNIOR. Now I have to figure out college and pretty much my whole life. It is so crazy how fast life flies by. I still feel like I am a freshman sometimes but I am almost a SENIOR. Rushing your life will just make it go so fast. I know everyone does this and all they want is to relax on the weekend but after you read this you may think twice. Hopefully, after reading this you will be grateful for everyday (I know this is SUPER cheesy, but you get the point) and live everyday to the fullest potential possible!
Hi, I’m Anna Bauer and I am a junior at Batesville High School (which you already know). But I love hanging with my friends, watching Netflix, and pretty muting having fun all the time. Dear Gift of My Life
So, if you’re getting this letter is means I have passed and you’re the oldest little one I had. Hello from your past mother’s self. I’m writing this for you to tell you I hope I did you well. I hope my love for you never left your mind when thinking about you. I’d love to meet you someday and I know I will it’s just a matter of time. So hopefully there’s a will, sorry if there’s fighting between your siblings if you have siblings. I’m 18 right now and that’s a big challenge I know you’ve probably gone through and I’m willing to wait to have a perfect child like you dearest. I always wanted 4 kids in my life time. I’m sorry to leave you alone but you have hopefully your siblings and/or your father there to lean support on. I’m a little bit of a scatter brain if you can’t tell with the back and forth topics. I wonder what you learned, who you are, who’s changed you for the better, and the worst. I guess that comes in time with having you first. I wonder what your life will be I hope happy and healthy; your mother’s life wasn’t the best without her father and the other things she was presented with in her life. I’ve probably told you this a million times but I care so deeply for you and I love you so very much and hope you learned something from my pasting. Remember everything is a learning lesson and you should hope come out of the chaos with peace. Loved you forever and more, your mother, Shelbie ___________ My name is Shelbie Thompson, I’m 18 and I’ve grew up in Batesville(mostly). I almost always am thinking about the future or bettering myself in the present for my future self. I’ve also always wanted kids and the thought gave me a good idea to do this blog for that reason. I’m always hoping that the lessons I pass down to them will be for the best. I imagine that my kids will always know more about my past and the lessons I learned along the way. So, make this blog now at the beginning of being an adult and my responsibilities and that maybe they can relate hoping that I don’t die sooner than them being in their 30s. I didn’t want to add names or who I think would be the father cause my future aspects always are changing and keeping the loose feeling of pronouns makes it fit with most of the aspects I have made to this point. Even how the letter was formatted went into my excited all over the place nature. |
